Exceptional Swimmer ED Baburaj Swam 25 kms Nonstop

ED Baburaj, a differently abled Swimmer created an inspiration by swimming 25 km non-stop at the Punnamada lake in Alappuzha, Kerala.

52-year-old Baburaj said that the challenge was very tough and dangerous. Baburaj had practiced essentially for 3 months as he had to get his body and mind fine-tuned for the strenuous swimming session.

“It took me seven hours and 10 minutes and I am completely exhausted,” said Baburaj at the finish line.

Baburaj learnt swimming when he was a school student. But at the age of 12, he met with an accident that affected his left hand and left it totally ineffective. Baburaj has even contested in several national and international events. As per medical records, he contests in the “Disabled” category with 40 percent disability.

Baburaj was applauded and cheered by many when he touched the finishing line. He sells Life Insurance Corp (LIC) policies for a living.
