The competition season is almost towards the end and so is this year. This seems to be the perfect time to maybe unwind, take a break, relax, or gear up for exams and focus more on studies!
Today’s article is beyond nutrition and/ or fitness. As this year ends it’s the perfect opportunity to talk about that one thing that really matters to make it big or take that plunge in absolutely anything we do!
And as much as I am heartbroken to say this- This thing is neither food, diet nor fitness or swim training. It is ‘the’ most important ingredient to success and swim performance.
It is the ‘mind’
You might say, you already knew of this! And I agree! However, I am sure not many of us know how to train our mind. And ironically so, it is only we who can train our minds; no one else can really train it for us.
It resonates best with our wants. If YOU WANT to win the next Nationals, YOU WILL. It starts with a thought. It progresses towards the ingredients to make you want real.
It further progresses towards your diligence and effort to ensure that each ingredient is performed as correctly as it possibly could. And then once you realize and are absolutely satisfied that you have done everything possible to make your ‘want’ work, you leave it to the moment!
When you get on the block at the biggest meets next year, I hope you find yourself being absolutely satisfied with the efforts you took and how desperately you wanted to achieve your goal.
The key to winning will really be simple- Preparation. Just do what you planned or visualized yourself to do. Do just that! And you will have it!

“You are the designer of your destiny. You are the author. You write the story. The pen is in your hand, and the outcome is whatever you choose.”
Begin this new year with a fresh sense of hope. Begin by training your mind. Do not look for answers outside, you will find them just within.
