The Glenmark 36th Sub Junior and 46th Junior National Aquatic Championships saw 3 dead heats as Karnataka won the overall championships with 452 points. Karnataka won a total of 97 medals with 31 Gold, 42 Silver and 24 Bronze medals. Maharashtra came second with a total of 67 medals comprising of 28 gold, 17 silver and 22 bronze medals. Assam finished third with 20 golds, 13 silver and 11 bronze medals. 17 new records were created during the meet.

The closest event of the day was the 50 m Butterfly for the Boys Group I category. Tanish George Mathew who had won the 100 m and 200 m butterfly races did achieve the treble but shared the gold with Maharashtra’s Aryan Varnekar who trains at the SAI Glenmark Academy. A brilliant surge by Aryan ensured a dead heat as both swimmers finished with a time of 00:25.68. D Adithya of Tamil Nadu won bronze with a time of 00:26.11
Kenisha Gupta waited till the last race of the meet to win the 100 m Freestyle and the coveted best swimmer award for the Girls Group I category. Kenisha won her fifth gold with a time of 00:59.11. The third dead heat of the day saw rapidly improving Shivangi Sarma of Assam who trains at the SAI GAF Centre at Delhi and Mahi Swetraj of Bihar stropped the clock simultaneously to win silver with a time of 01:00.31
The boys 100 m freestyle for Group III saw Sanskar Bhuyan of Assam win his second gold medal of the day as he comfortably won the event with a time of 01:04.37. Heer Pitroda of Gujarat and Navneeth R Gowda of Karnataka engaged in the second dead heat of the day as they shared the silver with a time of 01:07.14
Devansh Parmar from Gujarat sprung a surprise by winning a race in spite of not swimming in the fastest heat. Devansh clocked 09:01.19 in the morning heat in the 800 m freestyle in boys Group II which was not matched in the faster heat hence enabling the local boy to win gold. Sarvepalli Krishna Pranav of Tamil Nadu and Reyan Gada of Maharashtra who were swimming in the outer lanes 7 and 2 respectively won silver and bronze with times of 09:11.19 and 09:16.85 respectively.
Aryan Nehra remained unbeaten in the 46th Glenmark National Aquatic Championships as he won his fifth gold medal in as many events in the 800 m Freestyle for boys Group I. Aryan Nehra thus ensured that the best swimmer award for boys Group I. Anesh S Gowda of Karnataka claimed silver with a time of 08:40.51 while Anurag Singh claimed yet another bronze medal for Uttar Pradesh with a time of 08:40.80
The 800 m freestyle relay in the girls Group II saw Delhi’s Bhavya Sachdeva and Maharashtra’s Aaanya Waala locking horns for the final time in this meet. Aanya who won the 1500 m Freestyle put in her best efforts but lost out to Bhavya Sachdeva in an extremely close finish. Bhavya Sachdeva broke the 4 year old record of Rayna Saldanha clocking 09:22.32 while Aanya Wala won silver bettering the meet record with a time of 09:22.70. Young Kiara Bangera of Maharashtra swam a to a fantastic finish to win the bronze with a time of 09:39.95
Shrungi Bandekar of Goa closed her campaign at the meet with a fantastic display of her all round swimming skills to win her second gold of the meet in the 400 m Individual medley. Shrungi took control of the race post the backstroke leg and held her lead to win the race with a time of 05:15.80. Kanya Nayyar of Madhya Pradesh claimed the silver with a time of 05:20.11 while Saanvi Sood of Delhi won the bronze with a time of 05:27.69.
The boys group II 200 m backsrtroke saw local boy Devansh Parmar win his second gold of the day clocking 02:12.00. Vissesh Parameshwar Sharma won silver with a time 02:15.22 while Sahil Laskar of Bengal won bronze with a time of 02:16.97.
The 200 m backstroke for girls Group II saw Riddhima Virendra Kumar of Karnataka hold on to her early lead to win gold with a time of 02:28.78. Nina Venkatesh of Karnataka swam an extremely fast last 25 m to pip Palak Dhami of Maharashtra to win silver with a time of 02:29.73. Palak won bronze with a time of 02:31.10
Sanskar Bhuyan of Assam showed his all round class to win the 200 m Individual Medley boys Group III with a time of 02:37.27. Yash Karthik of Karnataka swam an extremely fast breaststroke leg to win silver with a time of 02:43.30 while his teammate Renukacharya Hodmani won bronze with a time of 02:44.56.
It is generally felt that a strong Breaststroke leg is the base to achieve success in the Individual Medley. Top Seed Vihita Nayana showed her overall swimming prowess to create a big lead courtesy her breaststroke leg and maintained it to win gold with a time of 02:46.58. Arista Saikia of Assam swam a fantastic freestyle leg to win silver with a time of 02:49.63 while Sarojini Swaminathan swimming in the outside lane 1 from Tamil Nadu won bronze with a time of 02:49.97
The 100 m freestyle for Boys group IV saw the same medallists as the 50 m freestyle but with colours changed. Mohnish P V of Karnataka extracted his revenge as he won the event with a time of 01:07.53 over Manash Pratim Baishya of Assam who won the gold in the 50 m freestyle settled for silver with a time of 01:07.75. M Yagna Sai of Andhra Pradesh won bronze with a time of 01:08.10
Naishi Ruhil of Maharashtra won her second gold of the meet winning the 100 m freestyle in the girls group IV category with a time of 01:09.26. Dhinidhi Designghu of Karnataka finished an extremely close second with a time of 01:09.47 while Mounya Koushmi K of Karnataka won bronze with a time of 01:11.07.
Kenisha Gupta won her fourth gold of the meet as she won the 50 m butterfly with a time of 00:29.67. Her teammate Nandhini Pethkar won silver with a time of 00:29.74 while Mahi Swetraj of Bihar won bronze with a time of 00:30.15.
The Boys Group II 50 m butterfly saw a disqualification of the original winner Sahil Laskar. This enabled Anshav Jindal of Punjab add a gold to his kitty winning the race with a time of 00.27.83. Teammates Anubhab Parashar of Mohd Rehan Mirza representing Assam won silver and bronze respectively with a time of 27.85 and 27.96 respectively.
The Girls Group II 50 m butterfly in Girls Group II went according to the seeds as Nina Venkatesh of Karnataka, Sanjiti Saha of Maharashtra and Sohaliys Syed of Tamil Nadu won Gold, Silver and Bronze with times of 00:29.80, 00:30.27 and 00:31.15
Subranshini Priyadarshini of Assam assured herself of the best swimmer in the girls group III category as she won her fourth gold in the 100 m Freestyle with a time of 01:06.93. Hashika R of Karnataka won silver with a time of 01:07.88 while Adwika Nair of Tamil Nadu swam an extremely fast last quarter to win a time of 01:09.06
The Boys 100 m Freestyle in the Boys Group II saw GAF Mumbai Swimmer and son of popular actor R Madhavan win his second gold of the meet with a time of 00:56.67. Akshaya Shet of Karnataka swimming in the outside lane 7 won silver with a time of 00:58.24 while Anubhab Parashar of Assam won a bronze with a time of 00:58.05.
The 100 m Freestyle in the Girls Group II category saw a bevy of stars but the seeds justified their seedings. Bhavya Sachdeva won her fourth gold medal of the meet with a time of 01:01.36. Latiesha Mandanna of Karnataka who trains at the GAF Ray Swimming Centre at Bangalore won silver with a team of 01:02.15 while teammate Niina Venkatesh swimming her third event of the day settled for bronze with a time of 01:03.59
The 100 m Freestyle for boys Group I saw an exceptional race as Tanish George Mathew got into a wonderful start and maintained his lead with a fantastic turn and won the gold with a time of 00:53.81. Veer Khatkar of Haryana kept pace with the leader for most of the race to finish second with a time of 00:53.09 while P Vikkas of Tamil Nadu added the 100 m freestyle bronze to his kitty with a time of 00:54.20
