National Swimming Champion Maana Patel Felicitated with Sardar Patel Senior Award

Maana Patel, 15-year-old sensation from Ahmedabad is honoured with the prestigious Sardar Patel (senior) award by Gujarat government. Acknowledging her performances in state and national level championships over the years and being an emerging sportsperson of the country, the state government felicitated her with an award.

Sardar Patel awards are given by Gujarat government to the sportspersons who perform well in state and national level events. Along with the award, she is also given  a prize money of Rs. 50,000/-.

Few more young and promising swimmers from Gujarat are honoured with Sardar Patel (junior) award and Jaydeepsinh junior award:

Maana’s achievements:

  • Maana created mark with her performance in the last three National Games.
  • She holds National records in 50m, 100m & 200m Backstroke events.
  • She won “Best Swimmer” title five times at National level championships, including twice at senior nationals.
  • Maana is the first Indian swimmer to win all three Backstroke events with record timings.
  • First swimmer to be signed by Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ).

SwimIndia wishes Maana Patel for the upcoming international meets Youth Commonwealth Games, Samoa in September and Asian Age group Championships, Bangkok in October.
