Differently Abled Swimmer, Kanchanmala Pande from Amaravati Maharastra will receive prestigious 'National Award' from The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities on December 3 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
The award for the year 2018 is declared by The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities/Divyangjan to Kanchanmala as a ‘best sportsperson with disability in the female section for her exceptional performance at the national and international swimming championships.
She has represented the country in many international events such as Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Games, and World Championships. In 2017, she won the gold in 200m Individual Medley and became the first swimmer from India to emerge as a world champion at the Mexico World Para Swimming Championship. She also represented India at the Jakarta Para Asian Games this year, in Swimming women S-11 category.
Kanchanmala daily practicing at the NIT Swimming pool under the supervision of NIS coach Pravin Lamkhade and Vishal Chandurkar.
