Tanvi Tarare of Nagpur clinched the first place in sprint triathlon event at the Delhi International Triathlon Competition organised by Chiro Mitra and Team LRG (Let's Run Gurgaon and Delhi Randonneurs) in association with Sports Authority of India (SAI).
The entire event was a time chipped competition which started from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Complex. The triathlon comprised of 750-meter swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running. Tanvi completed the triathlon with a winning timing of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 34.783 seconds. This was her first attempt in international-level triathlon meet. Earlier at the Nanded state-level triathlon, Tanvi stood 5th in her category
Pravin Lamkhade, Shashikant Chande and Vishal Chandurkar are the NIS swimming coaches under whom Tanvi is trained. Tanvi had also participated in the state and national-level swimming competitions. She was also selected in Nagpur Division cycling team for the DSO state-level tournament this year.
Currently, she is pursuing her swimming training on Dindayal Shodh Sansthan's Baljagat Swimming Pool.
Tanvi gave the credit of her success to NIT Swimming Pool Authority for their kind support and for providing a wonderful swimming facility.
